De Lue (1897-1988). There were 36 sketches originally; three have been sold over the years in Brookgreen fundraising auctions. Pencil on paper, framed. Vertical format. Large male nude with long hair flowing all around the head, facing forward, kneeling with right leg bent, arms bent and raised to head and shoulder, still attached to unfinished stone behind him, standing on a circular ledge. Behind him, a large orb radiates from behind the figure with rays extending in all directions. Four horses, two on each side, run down along the curving edges of the drawing.
